RIPLEY, W.Va. (WV News) — When Justin Harrison and his dad Jamie went fishing at Cedar Lakes on April 22, they thought they would enjoy spending time together and maybe catch a fish or two.
Little did they know that 13-year-old Justin would catch a whopper. His catfish measured 26 inches.
“I was pretty excited,” he said. “I was really surprised it was that big.”
Justin said he’s caught smaller ones in Mill Creek, another favorite fishing spot for him and his dad. The biggest from there was only eight inches.
The bait he used wasn’t anything unusual.
“I just used live red worms I got at Walmart,” he said.
Keith King, who was out walking at Cedar Lakes, saw the whole thing.
“It was great to capture a photo of an amazing father and son day,” he said.
