CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — Joyce Ann Bunch Pristavec, 70, of Lost Creek, WV, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the Tygart Center in Fairmont.
She was born in Clarksburg on August 14, 1953, a daughter of the late Robert F. “Bob” and Carol J. (Lafferty) Bunch.
In addition to her parents Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Wayne A. Pristavec in 1982; sister, Roberta Bunch; and a sister in infancy, Terry Joan Bunch. Joyce is survived by one daughter, Erin Elizabeth Pristavec and fiancé Bryan Gonzalez of Nutter Fort; her granddaughter who was the apple of her eye, Kaiya Krupia; brother Doug Bunch and wife Mary Jean of Good Hope; sister Crystal Dawn Bunch of Good Hope; nephew JR Bunch and wife Clista of Good Hope; and great-nephews who were also very special to her, Hunter and Parker Bunch.
Joyce was a graduate of South Harrison High School and received her secondary education degree from Fairmont State College. She worked as a social worker with the Clarksburg DHHR for many years, and attended the Central Hills Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Joyce loved to tell stories about her family and friends, going out to eat and shopping, and more recently loved her home shopping and using her ipad. She was an avid history lover including West Virginia, the Civil War, and anything Royalty, especially Princess Dianna. She loved watching anything her granddaughter was involved in like dance and her recitals. Throughout the years Joyce always remained committed to her late husband, and never forgot his memory.
Family and friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home 329 E. Main Street Clarksburg, WV, on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 4 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Good Hope Masonic Cemetery.
