BRIDGEPORT — After 37 years standing, the McDonald’s restaurant on Main Street was torn down Tuesday, but it won’t be gone for long.
John Ebert, owner of 11 restaurants in West Virginia and five in Maryland, said the McDonald’s will be rebuilt in about 90 days to fit a more “modern look.”
The new restaurant will feature two main changes, he said.
A second lane will be added to the drive-through.
“It’ll be easier and quicker for the customers,” Ebert said.
The McDonald’s restaurants in Nutter Fort and New Pointe also feature the dual drive-through, said Lisa Westcook, marketing director for the franchise.
The restaurant will also feature a new ordering system, called Dual-Point Ordering, for fast and more convenient service to customers.
The new system will allow customers to be served quicker and more efficiently by keeping one employee on the register to take orders while another employee prepares the orders, Westcook said.
We'll have more in Wednesday's print and electronic editions.
